Medicine against boredom!?

When people have long travels or similar, something called 'the hotel death' in swedish can sometimes occur. For example, this occurs to many footie players when in a big tournament such as the World Cup or similar. There are many things you could do, such as take a walk in the park, go shopping or sit and have some coffee. The problem is that after doing these things a few times, day after day with the same events, you get bored - and suffer the 'hotel death'...

Similar things can occur when doing a big project, such as a university thesis - often lasting 6-9 months with constant pressure and no time to do all the bigger things you need. For example, I could easily take a walk every day - but that gets boring, and you hate it when the weather gets bad. I could go to my Uni every day, and sit there instead - but that gets boring, and also annoying when people chatter all the time. Every option I find is something I've done a thousand times before, and it's obviously boring the crap out of me! Of course, the thesis work is suffering from my boredom, which is actually at the same time motivating to get rid of and get som change....

My current weapon against boredom is to go to the library most of the days. Next week I'll start going to the Uni again instead - just to have some change...

I'm looking forward to my short trip to London at the start of October. Going to some markets and maybe some clubs and pubs could help a bit.
